NEW BUSINESS

1. Motion - Meetings to be autonomous - Michele R.

   1. The TS requested more clarification from Michele and received the following (Requested points of clarification are in bold, and responses in italics).

                                         i. Motion is clearly written

1. Motion to have meetings be Autonomous .
  Keeping in line with our traditions as tradition four states “Each group should be autonomous, except in matters affecting other groups or AA as a whole”

                                        ii. Financial cost is explained and understood

1. This should cost us nothing. Meetings can choose to be a part of the show me group or form their own group and register as a new meeting. This could be an opportunity to offer rent or room cost for a meeting. Our Monthly rent $1700, Daily $56, hourly (during working hours) $4 hourly. This does not include operational cost. Assuming the inclusion of operational cost. Charge $30 a meeting x 4 meetings daily $120 x30 days = $3600 monthly.

2. Charge $20 a meeting x 4 meetings daily $ 80 x30 days = $2400 monthly.

3. Assuming all groups want this.

4. There will be a larger individual personal energy and time cost but not monetary, I can't predict the future.  More will be revealed.

                                      iii. Timeline of when the motion will be implemented is understood

1. It can be implemented in a matter of weeks- months depending how the group handles change.

                                      iv. How motion will impact groups functioning is understood

1. This will impact the meeting structure greatly.
  -elections for chair and other positions will be up to the meetings themselves.
  -meetings will have more opportunities for service.
  -meetings could collapse. Opening up new spots for different types of meetings
  -new meetings can start.
  -members could leave
  -we could retain more newcomers by the new structure.
  -meeting structure ie scripts/topic/ announcements/ and guidelines would change
  -meetings can choose to be a part of the show me group or form their own group and register as a new meeting.
  -run their own business meeting.

                                        v. Holds true to the spiritual principles within Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, Twelve Concepts of service.

1.    I believe this falls in line with the steps, traditions and guidelines.

1. 1. Michele R plans to be available at the GC meeting for additional comments.

2. Motion - Update the meeting formats - Susie H.

   1. Updated meeting formats for Open Hybrid, Open Speaker Hybrid, Newcomer, and Closed meetings are posted on the bulletin board and handouts will be available.  These changes are similar in nature to the previous changes for the Open Hybrid that was approved in the March GC meeting.

3. Discussion Topic - Move Newcomer meeting to 6pm on Sunday - Shannon F.

4. Discussion Topic - Acquire a water pitcher with a carbon filter so that group members can serve themselves tap water.  Filter to be replaced every 3 months by the quartermaster.  Yearly expense of under $30 and a one-time purchase of under $50 for the filters and pitcher, respectively. (author/sponsor unknown)

   1. This may fall under an existing position budget such as quartermaster or maintenance.

5. Discussion Topic - There is work remaining to be done to the marker board on the section with Trusted Servants, etc.  We need to follow up on ETA for completion of this item.
